Training

AMS can provide various levels of training and technical support at our facilities or in country.

Training for basic deployment, storage, handling and connecting of the folded fiberglass mats is provided by ReadymatUS personnel. This training course includes both classroom and site instruction. The program follows United States Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-270-07 section 2-3.2.1 (see Annex D).

The basic training course consists of Storage and Handling, Preparatory Actions and Installation, and Repair and Maintenance of the FFM’s.

Both short term and long-term storage training will prepare the end user trainees for the proper methods of warehousing and storing the FFM’s and support equipment until they are to be deployed and while in use.

The trainees will be instructed on the proper use of the handling beams for proper and safe unloading from the shipping container and for transit/maneuvering to and from storage facilities, loading and offloading techniques and how to select and prepare a drop site for the mats. Once the FFM’s are off loaded from the delivery vehicle, instruction will include the proper techniques for unfolding, moving, aligning, connecting, and anchoring the FFM’s along with the proper use of the support tools, compressor, edge marker kit, and distance to marker go kits. The final aspect of this section is the proper techniques for removal of the FFM from the deployment site, cleaning, folding and returning the FFM’s and support items back into long term storage.

Repair and maintenance of the FFM’s and support items is minimal, however, sometimes a panel or joint will be damaged, either from a tear or a puncture. The attendees will be trained in the proper repair methods and patching techniques to keep the FFM’s in service.

Trainees will be provided with a training/technical manual and CD fully describing all aspects of the course and product use. It will be inclusive of the manuals provided by the actual manufacturers of the tools provided in our support tool kit and any ancillary items provided. Classroom size is normally limited to 12 and sessions usually last 1 week. Upon completion of the training course, all attendees will receive GO/NO GO testing and certification from ReadymatUS that they have successfully completed the training course.

Train the trainer programs are offered as well as programs for individual base personnel.

Trainees should have basic mechanical skills and have no physical limitations.
